Dan, I try to get 8 hours sleep a night, but seriously, my brain or body or a combination of both, simply won’t let me!

The new version is 1.0.4 and has been tested out on WordPress 3.1 and works well. In case you install it without reading any notices – this theme is designed to work with three widgets; these get displayed underneath the content, above the footer. If you add more widgets, they will get displayed in one of the three columns, but does not distribute evenly across the three.

Other than that nothing was changed. I have been thinking about adding in a section to let people choose what script-style font they wish to use, hopefully I’ll have some time in the next few weeks to squeeze that in.

Whereas when it was originally created it didn’t have an admin backend now it does, with these options:

• Header; set the image in the top left, blog title/tagline, size, font, alignment.
• Content; set excerpt or full on index, image size in posts, blockquote colour, object float in posts.
• Sidebars; sidebar title colour.
• Comments; show comments on posts/pages, avatar size, background colour.
• Font; font and font size.
• Twitter; twitter username, if set allows a built-in widget.
• Colours; link colours, text colours, and underlines.
• Footer; image in the bottom right.

Right above the footer is a section showing three widget-ready blocks, this is a new addition to the theme (at least, editing them via the widget interface is).

I have changed the format of the administration backend, making it more user-friendly and using tabbed menus. I added a few more options, such as letting people select pages to use as menu options, and to select the sort order. The theme now uses the Google CDN to load up jquery, which will speed up the pages as far as Google is concerned, affecting SEO.

The header section is now widgetized, and I heavily styled the calendar widget in the header, distinctly different from the calendar widget for the sidebars. All in all, it’s a small update, but one that will make the theme more useful.

The admin backend has been greatly expanded, letting bloggers choose colours, fonts, layout, and the calendar options. The calendar options let you choose which calendar to use (you still have to download, install, and activate them) and whether you want to show it at all.

6 columns, 1 menu column, featured posts on top of 3 content columns, 2 sidebars

This is a very highly developed wordpress theme, letting you choose the layout, from three columns to six, with a variety of options for featured posts, colours, images, backgrounds and so on.

The unique feature of the theme was that the content of the blog scrolled underneath the fixed position header. I have updated this theme to let bloggers decide, in the backend administration options, whether to let it be normal or this fixed version.

I have updated the backend options a lot, to let users choose the font, the menu options (from a list of existing pages in the blog), and added a second sidebar. The second sidebar comes with options to set layout. So it can be two sidebars on the right, or on the left, or one either side.

So now the Digitalis WordPress Theme is version 1.0.6, updated so it works with all the mainstream browsers: FF, Opera, Chrome, Safari, IE7/8.

The jquery library is now loaded through the Google CDN, which will help with search rank on Google as it will be speedier to load.

The sidebars now have dynamic title loading, and so use the dynamic font that you see in the post and dates, which is something that I meant to include sooner, so mea culpa. The theme now lets you choose to add a second sidebar, and to determine the position whether it be two sidebars on the left, one either side, or two sidebars on the right.
