Updated Openair Theme to v1.3.1

Just a quick post to say that the OpenAir WordPress Theme has now been updated to version 1.3.1

This addresses a few fixes to problems that cropped up on the last update. One big one is the layout problem where multiple sidebars would appear, and incorrect layout for sidebars on either side of the content column.

One new option that has been added to the theme options is the ability to set the avatar in comments to the left or right (thanks for mentioning it Gordon!).

The OpenAir WordPress Theme has been updated so that now instead of just being a two column theme (with left or right sidebar as you wish) it is a two or three column theme.

So now you can choose a two column layout with left or right sidebar, or a three column layout with two left sidebars and content, two right sidebars and content or sidebars on either side of the content.

Aside from the layout addition, there are a couple of small alterations. The keywords have been altered for SEO purposes, adding the tags as keywords rather than having a set of pre-determined keywords. The wp_generator is removed from the header.

OpenAir Drupal Theme

This stems from someone mailing me and asking if I was planning on porting the popular OpenAir WordPress Theme to Drupal. I had thought about it a few weeks back, just after Christmas, but decided against it since I was busy. But now I had the bit of time and it wasn’t as difficult as I had imagined.

So this is a quick note about the theme.

It’s a two column Drupal theme which has the sidebar on the right (I haven’t let it be left or right yet, that might come later). It also has the administration theme built into it, so you can switch to both.

Like the WordPress version the background is static with the content scrolling up and down above it. There are a few bits and pieces that have been customised, such as the date on each post, but it is a fairly standard theme layout other than that.

The popular and easy-to-use OpenAir wordpress theme has been updated slightly. This is to let the theme have the sidebar on the left or the right, which can be set from the admin panel.

This is a WordPress 2.8.2-tested theme, not thrown together so much as just ‘clicked’ one day. It is a wordpress theme for both beginner and medium user alike, very easy to use, nice pleasant colours, and look. It is gravatar-ready, widget-ready, and SEO-friendly.
