Recently I installed and updated (moderate modifications from the standard version) the News Print wordpress theme on a professional therapist’s site. This can be found at The Berkeley Therapist, and I have to be honest and say that some of his articles make pretty good sense. The current layout on his site is using two main columns and one sidebar on the right.

Dan Quinn, the psychologist in question, also has another site which you can find another facet of his professional work: Dan Quinn, Psy.D. It really is amazing what these professionals can do. Dan, I try to get 8 hours sleep a night, but seriously, my brain or body or a combination of both, simply won’t let me!

Updates to News Print v3

After finding a little bit of time this week I have had a chance to put in an update to the News Print v3 theme. This is now at version 3.0.8.

What has changed? Well I have added twitter support, so in the admin backend you can put your twitter username, and how many tweets to show, and then in the widgets section add a widget to a sidebar to show them.

Also there has been a minor fix in the excerpts section. People have reminded me that I had left in references to the_excerpt_reloaded() which shouldn’t be there, and I’ve put it back to the_excerpt().

News Print v3 Theme Update

After several rounds of alterations today I have finally had the time to finish off the upgrades to this theme. All of the configuration options are now resident in the WordPress admin backend.

This moves the column choices, the limits on posts, column categories and so on to a proper theme options page which makes it a lot easier on those that use the theme.

The new version of this theme is now 3.0.5 – News Print v3.0.5 WordPress Theme – this is a premium wordpress theme, and costs £29.95

Updated News Print v2.2

This is just an update to an already existing wordpress theme, but a rather major one.

The News Print v2.0 WordPress Theme to this point had had a configuration file as a flat php file in the theme directory. Now this has been updated to be an admin panel in the WordPress backend, a much cleaner and more easy-to-manage option.

The release page has been updated to reflect the new change, and the version number has been increased to 2.2.0. The file can be downloaded from the release page (see the link above).

News Print v3.0 WordPress Theme Released

After many months of work, tweaking, and testing, I’ve finally decided to release the News Print theme in its latest incarnation – the 3.0 version. This is a more complex version that previous releases, it is essentially a four or five column wordpress theme.

This is a wordpress theme with one large sidebar split into two. It has the capability of two widget-ready sidebars as you would expect.

The News Print v3.0 WordPress Theme has either two, or three, content columns. There are various options for laying out the content, such as one or more subjects (categories) per column, or posts equally laid out between the columns, or one post per column over and over left to right. It is very configurable.

There is also a top “featured” post section, which can be turned on or off.
