Raised Paper (v1.0.1)
This multi-column wordpress theme is one that has developed from several earlier versions such as the News Print v3.0. After a lot of development work on that theme, this one was born where there is now a lot more blogger input and customisation on the backend.
In other words, you the blogger can adapt and alter the theme a massive amount in the theme’s administrative backend. Options include: layout, header, content, sidebars, archives, comments, font, twitter integration, columns, colours, menu, and those are just the major sections.
Needless to say all of the basics are included such as gravatars, widgets, standards-compliance (in as far as I can for the theme, if you add pieces not part of the theme I can’t be held responsible for that!), threaded comments and so on.
I have prepared a lot of screenshots for you so you can see what you are going to be purchasing. This is most of the options available, shown as a reader would see it, plus some views of the backend options themselves.
Here is a screenshot of the theme in 6 column mode, with 1 left menu column, 3 content columns (with 2 featured posts above them) and 2 sidebar columns on the right:
The same layout but without the two featured posts on top: 6 columns, 1 left menu column, 3 content columns, and 2 sidebars:
Here the layout is similar but one of the three content columns is configured as a sidebar, on the left side. The featured posts are still present but above the remaining two content columns:
It should be noted that the above layout with one of the content columns placed as a sidebar to the left, can also be configured to place the column on the right.
Moving on we now have 5 total columns. There is 1 menu column, a featured post above only 2 content columns, and 2 sidebars:
Here is another version but now we are down to 4 columns. There is 1 menu sidebar, a featured post above two content columns, and now just 1 sidebar on the right:
Now the same layout but with the featured post removed:
Finally here is the three column version. This looks the same whether you have featured posts in or not, but does give you an opportunity to mix two separate categories in large post formats for the homepage:
Here you can see the single post/page template:
Now for a look at the administration back-end:
There is a support forum for this theme available, where you can ask any questions regarding the theme, ask about configuration options, and generally get support on the theme. Alterations other than minor ones will be charged at the normal rate.
I will continually update the forum with any new releases, and any snippets of code that might alter the default install, but not be included in a major or minor release.
There is just one working example right now, at Balanced News Blog. There is one other, a development version but this may change due to other themes being developed, or because I’m upgrading this theme: Test Blog 2.
To purchase this theme navigate to the bottom of this post and add to the shopping cart – it costs £99.95 (approximately $135 at current conversion rates).
