This theme is a newer version of the News Time Theme. It is a four-column (or three-column, depending on what you set it as) theme for WordPress called News Print. There are three columns (or two) where the content gets written, and an additional mandatory sidebar.
After receiving many emails regarding upgrades to the News Print Theme I have added the option to select two or three columns for the main content. It is set to default as three columns, with the sidebar as mandatory.
You can see this theme in action on the testbed at Balanced News Blog.
All of the major sidebar functionality is written in, with a lot of contents to show you how to alter it to your own tastes. Note: as of May 13th, the News Print v2.0 theme is widgetised, the v2.1 download is below.
Installation
First, this theme requires WordPress 2.0+ (it is coded, and tested, on 2.12). Once you have downloaded the theme, unzip it and:
- Upload the unzipped theme to your
wp-content/themes/directory. - Enter your Admin panel -> Presentation and select the theme.
Frequently Asked Questions
None so far! It is a simple unzip, install and off you go. You can edit the theme as you wish (it IS commented a little bit). Please read the README file included with the release, it tells you parts that you might to alter. If you have any questions, you can comment here, or you can go over to the WordPress Forums.
Several people have asked about the Featured Posts and how to set them up properly. I have written a text file on this: Featured Post README. This contains instructions on how to change the theme so your own featured posts will work correctly.

i have tried chnaging all the variables in v2.0 and v2.1, and i’m only able to display 3 posts, although i have 15 in the category.

I am using WP 2.2 and NP 2.1. On the index page, everything displays as it should, but on a single post page, the right sidebar is scrunched and elongated. re: http://mexicotrucker.com/?p=301
We have gone over the style sheet line for line and cannot find errors. Also, we have disabled the widgets one at a time hoping to find the solution there, without success.
Anyone have any ideas? I have the problem on two blogs using this excellent theme

I want to see in the main index the pictures or videos in the post!
I set the theme on 3 column+sidebar. and 3post per column
How i can modify the viewable lenght of the post in the main index page and how i can set too see the image/video content on this?

Tedynecula - you would need to use a third-party plugin to replace the_excerpt(). I suggest using the_excerpt_reloaded() (you can get it here).
That will let you configure it to view images and/or videos.
Again, this will also let you change how much of the post is seen in the main index page.
