Guide to Site Hosting
Sunday March 23, 2008
If you are a designer and looking to find somewhere where you will be happy hosting your sites, development work, and blogs, then finding the right web host can sometimes be a search for the proverbial needle.
Looking around for just that right package, or the right admin panel, the right amount of bandwidth, the right access, the amount of uptime (which in my opinion is one of the most important factors), and so on. Getting all of that in one package is nearly impossible.
So someone saying that the best web hosting is here, or somewhere else, you have to take it with a pinch of salt. This is all objective, depends on what you want in the first place, but having a single place where you can compare plans, see comments from others, that’s a good start.
I must admit that I am happy with the host I use now, Dreamhost, but I have used others in the past, Bluehost for example, and a friend of mine in Arkansas uses 1and1 but I have some really bad experiences with them. Like I said, it’s all about what you want, and getting what you expect, all in one neat package.
