BT Broadband

I have been toying recently with the idea of moving over my broadband package, namely to using BT broadband.
What has happened that I consider this drastic move? Well many months ago, my current provider who shall remain unnamed (it’s an italian sounding name) called me up, said I could get 8Mb with unlimited download and my phone all in one package. Sounded good, the upgrade from my current 2Mb to 8Mb but retaining the unlimited download was what really got me.
Have I got anything from them yet? No - except the increased bill.
So I am considering some good BT broadband packages. Here’s the main choices:
- Option 1; from £8.95/mo, 5Gb downloads/mo
- Option 2; from £13.99/mo, 8Gb downloads/mo
- Option 3; from £18.99/mo, unlimited downloads/mo
All in all, some good packages, the third BT broadband package is the one I’m looking at. I think I might just check out how fast this current connection is (using a speedtest) before I do anything drastic as move, but it’s something that has been on my mind for some time now.

I would end up over 8MB in a week. :p
For me it’s the more speed the better. I would gladly pay the price.
I get 8MB at 60GB BW for around $5/month.

I like speed, but I think I could do with 8Mb line instead of a 2Mb line (but still keep the unlimited part!)

How refreshing to see a positive post about BT - and very appropriate to have this from The English Guy.
Not only am I impressed with the BT Broadband Speed Test tool I was quite happy to see what good value their cheap broadband package was for an average user.
