For the past week or so my computer has been rebooting every so often, progressively getting worse and worse, and more often, as time goes by. Last night it must have rebooted five times. This morning, I’d say ten times.
Talk about annoying.
Anyway, more annoying than it rebooting was the fact that this is high perfomance Corsair memory! Two 1 gigabyte sticks to be precise. I downloaded a memory tester, and looked at the Minidumps that Windows XP produced, and voila, it said I had corrupt memory.
I took out one of the sticks, rebooted and everything has been fine. Memory test passed. So it was one of the sticks that is ooh, three months old, is corrupt! I’m debating the merits of writing to Corsair and/or Misco, since I know it’s useless, they won’t do anything, after all why would they care?
This computer seems so slow with just 1GB memory…
