Their 24/7 support line ususally tells you that they're experiencing high call volumes, asks you to call back later and hangs up. Their Level 1 staff is clueless and it's impossible to get a hold of the Level 2 support. The following statement has been proven to us on multiple occasions now - 1and1 is a great hosting company until something goes wrong. If you're after cheap prices and don't care about uptime and support - they're perfect. It's worse than that. I just had an outage and I called to see what the hell was happening. I told them not to reboot the server. Just vary the interface and get a new address. So what did they do? Rebooted the server. "Have the guy check it again" is what I heard in the background. What a bunch of fricken morons. Don't waste your time or your cash.. I am doing that for you. Their support department refused to take my phone number because they cannot make any outbound calls. WTF?! So I was forced to use up an hour of my cell phone time while they were busy getting their heads out of their arses.
