Cartoons = Zionist Plot
Tuesday February 7, 2006
You know I’ve heard some cranky stuff in my time, and I’m considerably young. What about the faked moon landings or the CIA-backed Kennedy assassinations? Heard of those? They seem to be quite popular. But seriously, this morning I see THIS [ Cartoons 'Part of Zionist Plot' ] on the Guardian Online website.
Who was it from? Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Iranian Supreme Leader, as he says:
“The west condemns any denial of the Jewish Holocaust, but it permits the insult of Islamic sanctities,” Ayatollah Khamenei said. The caricatures amounted to a “conspiracy by Zionists who were angry because of the victory of Hamas,” he said, referring to the militant group that won a surprise landslide victory in last month’s Palestinian elections.
And yet we still wait for moderate Islam to reinforce itself over the radical minority. If this person (and any other Imam espousing such nonsense) were so marginal and unbelieved by mainstream Islam, why do we not hear moderate and rational muslims in his place, drowning out this putrid jabbering?
I think I’ll go jump in my private spacecraft and go to the secret moonbase we’ve been keeping from you all these years…
