And in other news, the man in the moon has been found alive and well.

I mean seriously, this is from the nation who is supposedly wholeheartedly behind it’s President’s recent comments:

“They have invented a myth that Jews were massacred and place this above God, religions and the prophets.”

“The West has given more significance to the myth of the genocide of the Jews, even more significant than God, religion, and the prophets,” he said. “(It) deals very severely with those who deny this myth but does not do anything to those who deny God, religion, and the prophet.”

So now we hear that Iran wants to hold a Holocaust Conference to “examine the scientific evidence concerning Nazi Germany’s extermination of 6 million Jews”.

Well that statement seems to indicate that they DO believe 6 million Jews were killed, wouldn’t you say?

Then there is this from a Foreign Ministry spokesman:

“It is a strange world. It is possible to discuss everything except the Holocaust,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi told reporters.

“The Foreign Ministry plans to hold a conference on the scientific aspect of the issue to discuss and review its repercussions.”

It’s a bit of a strange thing for a Foreign Ministry to do, a bit like the hosting a conference on the 802.11n wifi specifications

Thankfully I’m not the only one questioning the timing or stupidity of this “scientific” announcement by Iran.
