Is Congress’ collective clock about to be cleaned? The Abramoff vitriol is being resurrected and it seems that the DeLay indictment was just the tip of the iceberg…

Now we have Randy “Duke” Cunningham pleading guilty to bribery charges, admitting that he took $2.4 million in mostly from defense contractors. The fact that he denied this for months, and only when he was found guilty did he admit it, is shameful in and of itself. You got caught and now you cry and wail, Randy? Boo hoo.

But then again he was very stupid. On a $160,000 Congressman’s salary he purchased a $2.55 million estate. Can we say dumb, Randy? Did you think no-one would say anything?

The People’s Republic of Seabrook has a good article on this, clearly the feelings expressed there are the same as those I feel; boortz.com believes that he won’t do anywhere near the 10 years that he could receive; ScrappleFace has a great article with some Nancy Pelosi verbage and her take on the Republican “problem”; Random Numbers says an example should be made of Cunningham; Right Wing News is happy that a member of Congress is being held to the same standard as the rest of us; Democratic Veteran met Cunningham in his Vietnam flying days and didn’t think much of him back then either.
