Daniel, no, it wasn’t April 1st. I agree on the translation error, odd. But then again, many British newspapers employ American journalists (and vice versa).

It’s got to be a joke. Was the publication date April 1st? Is the person responsible for the story known for satire?

BTW: why is the word “soccer” used in the translation? Was the translation supplied by an American. Wouldn’t the Guardian opt for “football”?

I say, sentence these fathead-was to cleaning the pigskins at all high school, college and pro football games.

And while we’re at it, sentence them to a full year eating nothing but SPAM. Lots and lots of SPAM.
