A friend of mine had a computer hiccup a few weeks ago. I tested everything and nothing came up on the screen, in fact nothing would even start on the computer, period. I swapped the power supply out and still the same, so I surmised it was the motherboard. Well…
The new motherboard came, I installed it, but nothing again, the motherboard was bad! So again we swapped it out. This time the thing started up at least, but for some strange reason there is NO video. I cannot understand why.
We got a new Hard Drive, thinking that maybe that was the problem but STILL, the video will not initialize. I swapped the memory out for some I use, but no, that’s not the issue. The CD drives are working so they can’t have an effect. So what is left ladies and gentlemen? The chip? Should I get a new chip? That doesn’t seem likely, but honestly, there isn’t much left that it CAN be!
Input is much appreciated, this is driving me bloody nuts. I have installed a lot of computers in my time, but never come across anything like this before, so I would like some help. Thanks!
